The Center for Open Science (COS) develops tools to support the scientific workflow (i.e., Open Science Framework), fosters community standards and efforts for open practices, and conducts metascience research - science on scientific practices. We seek a project manager with substantial training in research methodology and practice, extremely strong social and organizational skills, and ability to translate ideals into practical uses. The Project Manager will contribute to community and metascience efforts, and help facilitate open science practices more broadly. This position is highly appropriate for graduating PhD’s seeking to stay involved in scientific research and improving scientific practices.
- Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for the project manager include managing initiatives to improve scientific practices including badges for journals to acknowledge open practices (e.g., https://osf.io/tvyxz/), a Registered Reports publishing format (e.g., https://osf.io/hxeza/), checklists for research workflow (e.g.,https://osf.io/mv8pj/), and disclosure standards (e.g., https://osf.io/hadz3/). The project manager will foster and manage connections with the scientific community on these initiatives, provide training and support for users, maintain project documentation and standards, and track progress on project goals.

Substantial training and experience in scientific research and methodology; Extremely high social and communication skills; Exceptional organization and attention to detail; Ability to use web communication and documentation software effectively; Team-oriented; Very strong work ethic; Multi-tasking; Self-starter and industrious; Adaptivity to rapidly changing demands in a high performance workplace; Very strong writing skills. Skills in programming, web development, and data analysis are a plus.
