DataONE Programmer positions at University of New Mexico

The Data Observation Network for Earth is poised to be the foundation of new innovative environmental science through a distributed framework and sustainable cyberinfrastructure that meets the needs of science and society for open, persistent, robust, and secure access to well-described and easily discovered Earth observational data. Supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation, DataONE will ensure the preservation and access to multi-scale, multi-discipline, and multi-national science data. DataONE seeks to transcend domain boundaries, making biological data available from genome to ecosystem and making environmental data available from atmospheric, ecological, hydrological, and other earth science sources. This broad disciplinary focus brings many challenges in the description, publication, discovery, and integration of datasets across multiple disciplines.

The Analyst/Programmer 3 will participate in the development of the overall design of system architecture, system implementation, and operations for the large multi-institutional research and development network enterprise. In particular, the individual will participate in the design and implementation of web based user interfaces for DataONE applications, tools and services using open source, standards compliant technologies and techniques. This is a benefits eligible position. The University of New Mexico (UNM) provides a comprehensive package of benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. In addition, UNM offers educational benefits through the tuition remission and dependent education programs. For more information and to apply, go to UNM Jobs and search for posting number 0826711.
